Tuesday 3rd March

A Kingfisher, a singing Chiffchaff, 3 Song Thrushes and 2 pairs of Bullfinches were in Peasholm Glen this morning, and 2 Rock Pipits, 3 Meadow Pipits, 24 Turnstones and a Fulmar were at the harbour. Pink-footed Geese were seen heading north throughout the morning: 80 over Cayton, 90 over Wykeham Raptor Viewpoint, and 1465 past Long Nab. 2 pairs of displaying Goshawks, a Common Buzzard and a Kestrel were seen over Troutsdale valley, while 5 Buzzards, a Sparrowhawk, 200+ Fieldfares, 120 Chaffinches, 50 Goldfinches and 3 Crossbills were at North Moor. A Snow Bunting flew around Cayton Carrs, a Little Egret was spotted at Thornton Carrs, and the Hooded Crow was still in the Flotmanby area. A Hawfinch was seen at Adderstone Rigg in Dalby Forest this afternoon.
