Unfortunately
sad news today not only did we all hear about the passing of Rick Parfitt from
Status Quo but the Red-throated Diver that had been frequenting Peasholm Park
was found dead on the lake this morning. However, the White-fronted Goose was
seen again at this location.
At
Potter Brompton Carr there were 16 White-fronted Geese, c90 Teal, 14 Wigeon and
abour 60 Linnet.
Johnson’s
Marsh had 9 Grey Herons and 8 Curlews and at Long Nab 402 Herring Gulls went
south in 2 hours including 6 of the northern argentatus, also in this area 3 Red-throated Divers and a Song
Thrush came in off the sea.
The
Harbour still held 2 Black-necked Grebes and at Holbeck there were 4+ adult
Mediterranean Gulls.
