The highlight today was the discovery of a third Great Grey Shrike
in our area, this one at Lilla Cross discovered by Paul Newton and
Graham Oliver, whilst those at Maw Rigg and May Moss remained in situ.
The only report of Waxwings today was a lone individual by Dunelm on Seamer Road this morning.
4 Eiders flew south past Marine Drive and in the harbour area there were 48 Purple Sandpipers, Great Northern Diver and Black-necked Grebe.
Wykeham South Lake hosted 5 Great-crested Grebes, Little Grebe, 6 Goldeneye, Pochard, 27 Tufted Duck, 42 Wigeon, Gadwall, 5 Egyptian Geese, 4 Teal, 86 Coot and a Stonechat. The Mere produced 32 Tufted Ducks, 2 Gadwall, 2 Little Grebes and 2 Kingfishers and at Taylor Way pools 4 Common Snipe and 2 Jack Snipe.
