Just
one single Waxwing was reported today, seen by a single observer and
photographed in a garden in Scalby.
In
the Seamer area there was a Goosander at Burton Riggs and a Jack Snipe and
Little Egret at Taylor Way.
In
Langdale Forest today a single Great Grey Shrike at May Moss and 3 Goshawks and
20+ Crossbills in the Maw Rigg area.
Star
Carr was quite productive today with 18 White-fronted Geese, 6 Pink-footed
Geese and another 34 flew over to the southwest with a Greylag Goose, 2 Little
Egrets, 100 Fieldfares, 30 Redwings, 200 Lapwings and a Kingfisher;
Elsewhere
other records included 2 Water Rails at the Open Air Theatre, 97 Wigeon at
Johnson’s Marsh and 3 Barn Owls and a Tawny Owl at Ruston Carr/Brompton Road.
Mammal
