The
Great White Egret was back on Seamer
Tip Pool this morning where there was also a Green Sandpiper; 2 Black-tailed
Godwits went east over the Filey Road park-and-ride at 11.00; 5 Willow Warblers
and 2 Chiffchaffs were on the south side of Castle Hill; in Cornelian Bay there
were 2 Eiders, a Common Sandpiper and a lingering Arctic Skua; at Scalby Mills
another Eider, a Teal and 42 Sandwich Terns and in North Bay 7 Sandwich Terns,
a Common Tern and a Great Skua.
At
Long Nab today 12 Teal, 10 Common Scoter, 3 Manx Shearwaters, 2 Oystercatchers,
a Golden Plover, 5 Ringed Plover, 12 Whimbrel, 4 Black-tailed Godwits, 4
Turnstone, 3 Knot, 3 Dunlin, 9 Redshank, a Greenshank, 54 Sandwich Terns, 9
Common Terns, 38 Arctic Terns, a Great Skua, an Arctic Skua and 62 Swifts.
Cetaceans
today included no less than 5 different Minke
Whales with 4 moving south and the other heading north off Long Nab and
presumably one of these also being seen from Queens Parade.
