The
big surprise today was the discovery by Chris Bull of a Great White Egret that flew in to Seamer Tip Pool at 12.58 and
despite looking nervous at times was still present until at least 17.00; also
at this location today were a Pintail (seen on Taylor Way pool as well), 2
Wigeon, 3 Shoveler and 3 Teal.
At
other locations today we had 15 Mandarin Duck and 3 Common Sandpipers on
Harwood Dale Lake; a group of 8 Mistle Thrushes in Harwood Dale Forest; 3 Snipe
and a Dunlin on Johnson’s Marsh; 2 adult Mediterranean Gulls on a Holbeck
rooftop and off Marine Drive this evening 19 Sandwich Terns (15 S, 4 N), 8
Common Terns (3 S, 5 N) and an Arctic Tern.
