An interesting day of quality seabirds and drift migrants. Highlights past Long Nab included an adult Sabine's Gull, Cory's Shearwater, juvenile Long-tailed Skua , and Caspian Gull. Grounded migrants there included 3 Pied Flycatchers, 2 Whinchats, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, Tree Pipit, and Redstart. A juvenile Little Stint in Cayton Bay with 4 Dunlin, and 5 Ringed Plover. Migrants at Castle Hill included 2 Pied Flycatchers, Redstart, 4 Whinchats, and 9 Wheatears. A male Hen Harrier flew south past Marine Drive late afternoon. A Wheatear on the outer harbour wall. Two Whinchats at South Cliff. Seven Eiders at Cloughton Wyke. A Kingfisher at NY Water Park. Gristhorpe Bay area: 5 Whinchats, 4 Wheatears, 2 Redstarts, Pied Flycatcher, Spotted Flycatcher, Stonechat, 7 Chiffchaffs, 3 Willow Warblers, Lesser Whitethroat, Blackcap, Grasshopper Warbler, Goldcrest, plus 20 Golden Plover over.
