Most of yesterday's passerine arrivals had cleared out overnight. A Garden Warbler was at Castle Hill. Two Black Terns flew north past Long Nab, also 2 Little Egrets, and a Greenshank north. A Wheatear at Hundale Point, plus a Pied Flycatcher and Lesser Whitethroat at Crook Ness this evening. A mid-afternoon check of Cloughton Wyke revealed a Pied Flycatcher, 2 Redstarts, and 2 Whitethroats. A Hobby flew south-west there. A Redstart was in a Burniston garden. A Tree Pipit at Wrench Green. Early morning in the Gristhorpe Bay area saw a Pied Flycatcher, 4 Whinchats, 6 Wheatears, 3 Spotted Flycatchers, 2 Redstarts, 2 Stonechats, 2 Whitethroats, a Lesser Whitethroat and 21 Pied Wagtails. In the bay were a Little Egret, 95 Oystercatchers, 20 Gbb Gulls, a Lbb Gull, 27 Cormorants, 8 Grey Herons. At East Lake (NY Water Park): 12 Teal, Caspian Gull (1cy), Yellow-legged Gull (1cy), 13 Lbb Gulls, 5 Gbb Gulls, 214 Lapwing, Dunlin, Ruff, Redshank, 27 Coot.
