Migration watch; 07.15 - 15.40hrs and 19.25 - 19.55hrs.
A rather slow yet very interesting day at Long Nab, on the move there (south unless stated) were 2 Red-throated Diver + 1 north, 9 Manx Shearwater + 11 north, 5 Cormorant, 5 Little Egret north (record site count), 3 Common Scoter + 333 north, 1 Hobby south at 15.28hrs, 13 Oystercatcher, 2 Dunlin north, 2 Turnstone, 3 Curlew + 8 north, 1 Whimbrel + 1 north, 14 Black-headed Gull + 10 north, 10 Common Gull, 1 juvenile Yellow-legged Gull south at 14.05hrs, 7 Sandwich Tern + 29 north, 3 Common Tern north, 9 Puffin + 1 north, 1 juvenile Short-eared Owl south at 09.13hrs, 24 Swift, 1 Sand Martin, 1 Linnet and 7 Goldfinch.
Elsewhere 2 Crossbill flew south over West Ayton, a pair of Yellow Wagtail with 3 juveniles were at Darrels Low Farm, 2 Gadwall were on Wykeham South Lake, a Little Egret was on Johnson's Marsh and a Redshank and a Whimbrel was at Scalby Mills.
