Waxwings were seen feeding on West
Garth, Cayton this morning and resting up in trees at the end of South Lea
Road. These birds were rather jumpy and didn’t hang around for long with the
last report at 10.05.
A
female Scaup was seen in South Bay,
forced down after being chased by a Peregrine. Also in the Harbour/South Bay
area there were 2 Great Northern Divers
and a Black-necked Grebe plus a Long-tailed Duck and 3
Common Scoter. In North Bay the Stonechat and the Black Redstart were still on
the rocks opposite the Albert Café.
At
least one Water Rail and the Kingfisher continued their sojourn to the Open Air
Theatre whilst at other locations there were 2 Bramblings at the Forge Valley
feeders, at Cockmoor Hall car park 20 Bramblings and 12 Siskin, 20+Mandarin
Ducks and 12+ Teal at Hilla Green and 80 Lapwing at Harwood Dale.
