Thursday 25th November
No sign of the Dusky Warbler at Long Nab this morning but it was very windy! A Velvet Scoter and Manx Shearwater flew north there. A Dipper performed well in Scalby Beck by the Scalby Mills pub. The two Ravens were back at Cayton Carrs, mostly distant towards the old Seamer Tip landfill. A Brambling was on the east side of Seamer tip and Little Egret on Seamer Mead. A Black Redstart was on the Spa building 08.45am but could not be relocated in the afternoon.500+ Pink-footed Geese were feeding in fields at Low Marishes. Good numbers of Redwing and Fieldfares there. Three Common Snipe were at Cloughton Wyke. 300 Lapwing at Star Carr. Three Ringed Plovers at Scalby Mills. The Snow Bunting was still along the closed road above Cayton Bay. PHOTO - Purple Sandpiper South Bay by Eric Barnes.
