Friday 26th November
The winds strengthened and turned north during the morning bringing a few seabirds past Long Nab: 9 Eiders, Great Northern Diver, Manx Shearwater and a Snow Bunting north. A Great Skua flew south attacking Gannets as it went! 100 Pink-footed Geese were feeding SW of Seamer tip pool. 400 Lapwing and 1000 flew over Middle Lane, Hutton Buscel. At the harbour: 19 Purple Sandpipers, 48 Turnstone plus two Red-throated Divers in South Bay. A Jay and 2 Kingfishers at The Open Air Theatre. Good numbers of finches in Dalby Forest (end of Haygate track); 13 Brambling, 300 Chaffinches, 120 Linnets, 120 Goldfinch, 20 Siskin. also in the Haygate area: 34 Crossbill, Woodcock, Marsh Tit.
