Saturday 13th November
A Grey Wagtail was spotted on the roof of a shed in Lyell Street this morning, while a Great Skua passed Long Nab on an otherwise very quiet sea watch. Later a Peregrine was seen carrying a Woodcock it had caught at sea, which it dropped when a second Peregrine attacked. The Woodcock was eventually finished off by a Great Black-backed Gull. A Dipper was singing on the river in Wrench Green, and groups of 8+ and 25 Crossbills were seen in Wykeham Forest. A Puffin was off East Pier, 3 Purple Sandpipers were in North Bay on the terracing below the Freddie statue, and 2 Kingfishers were at the Open Air Theatre. 145 Lapwings were in fields off Ings Road, plus 37+ Fieldfare and a Grey Partridge. Coughton Pond had 5 Teal, 6 Mallard and 3 Moorhens.
