Friday 12th November

A Red-throated Diver was in the harbour this morning. At Wykeham Lakes there were 3 Whooper Swans, 3 Goldeneye, 6 Egyptian Geese (4 of them juveniles), 3 Little Grebes and 17 Siskins were at South Lake, while 3 Snipe, 3 Goldeneye, 24 Cormorants and 2 Wigeon were at East Lake. About 70 Pink-footed Geese circled over Burniston before flying north and 3 were seen heading south past Long Nab. Also at Long Nab: the Lapland Bunting was still present, a Puffin was offshore while a second flew past north, a Dark-bellied Brent Goose flew north, and a Woodcock flew in off the sea. A Jay was seen at Gristhorpe.
