Wednesday 17th November

3 Whooper Swans flew south past Long Nab this morning, and 6 took off west from Wykeham South Lake, where there was a partially leucistic Coot. A Snow Bunting was still in the stubble field at Long Nab, a Great Northern Diver flew north, and 71 Pink-footed Geese plus 553 Siskins flew south. A single Brent Goose was seen in the field to the west of the water treatment works, and the Cattle Egret was again spotted briefly to the south of Seamer Tip Pool. At Wykeham Lakes there were: 3 Snipe, 5 Wigeon, 2 Redwing, a Grey Wagtail and 6 Egyptian Geese (4 juvenile), while in the gull roost on South Lake there were 78 Great Black-backed Gulls, 900 Common Gulls, 280 Black-headed Gulls and 80 Herring Gulls.
