2 Water Rails were calling at Seamer Road Mere this morning, where there were also 2 Goldeneye, 2 Gadwall and 25 Tufted Duck. 175 Pink-footed Geese, a Shelduck and 257 Siskins flew south passed Long Nab and a Woodcock flew in off the sea. The Cattle Egret was again seen briefly flying over the field south of Seamer Tip Pool, and 30 Golden Plover flew north-west over Crossgates. 8 Crossbills and a Brambling were seen in Broxa Forest, while 28 Crossbills, 2 Marsh Tits and 34 Siskins were seen on the Haygate circuit in Dalby Forest. A flock of 70 to 80 Greenfinch plus smaller numbers of Yellowhammer, Linnet, Goldfinch, Chaffinch and Tree Sparrows were seen at Coverdale Moor; plus 40+ Fieldfare.
