Monday 13th June
A vocal Ring-necked Parakeet flew west up Cayton Low Road at 0545hrs this morning and was photographed in Eastfield this evening. Two male Honey Buzzards, a dark morph and pale morph were seen from the roadside south of Highwood Brow this morning. At Broxa Forest, a Turtle Dove, Tree Pipit, four Common Crossbills, 10 Siskin and a Jay were noted. Three Lapwings with two chicks and five Mandarin Ducks were at Harwood Dale Lake. A minimum of 20 Common Crossbills, five Siskins, Cuckoo and male and female Common Redstarts were reported from forestry at Helwarth Road, Harwood Dale. Three Ravens were seen at May Beck this evening including a probable juvenile and at least two Woodcock were roding and a displaying Nightjar were at Wykeham forest at approximately 2200hrs
