Saturday 18th June
A second-calendar year female Black Redstart was photographed at Troutsdale. The long staying Whooper Swan remained at Scarborough Mere, three Teal were on Johnson's Marsh and a Hobby flew over Ravenscar Tea Rooms. 27 apparently occupied Fulmar nests were counted at Ravenscar and a total of 48 Manx Shearwaters passed Long Nab. At Hogs Pasture Buildings near Snainton, a Quail was calling and two Yellow Wagtails, two Turtle Doves and a Little Owl were also in that area. Two Red Kites were seen over Ebberston and a single Red Kite was over Jugger Howe Moor. A pair of Stonechats with young were seen at Gristhorpe Bay and a further pair of Stonechats and a pair of Yellow Wagtails were noted at Cayton Bay. Four Honey Buzzards were again reported from Wykeham Raptor vViewpoint early this afternoon.
