A juvenile Marsh Harrier flew north at Long Nab early this morning. Other highlights from there were a Grey Plover, 4 Whimbrel and 102 Common Terns going north, and a Whimbrel and 253 Swallows heading south. A flock of 450+ Linnets were near Crook Ness. At Johnson's Marsh there were 5 Teal, 70 Canada Geese, and a hybrid Canada x Greylag Goose. All 3 Peregrines were present on the Castle headland, where 9 Redshank were seen flying past northwards and a Common Tern south. This afternoon a Hobby was seen chasing through a gathering of swifts and Hirundines before flying north over Crossgates.
