A Minke Whale was seen about 2.5 miles out off Long Nab early this morning. Other highlights passing Long Nab through the morning were 6 Wigeon, 2 Red-throated Divers, 3 Manx Shearwaters, 13 Knot, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Whimbrel and a Swift, while 2 Sedge Warblers were present and 700 Herring Gulls were feeding in the fields nearby. In Jackson's Bay there was a Knot, a Dunlin, 3 Bar-tailed Godwit, 5 Turnstones, 11 Redshank, 5 Ringed Plover and 160 Black-headed Gulls. 14 Teal were at Johnson's Marsh, and an Avocet was in Cloughton on a pool off Newlands lane. 9 Mediterranean Gulls were in South Bay (5 adults, 3 first calendar year and one second calendar year). A Nightjar was rescued from a factory.
