Friday 12th March
4 Woodcock were seen on the edge of Wykeham Forest near Wrench Green this morning, and a White-fronted Goose was in a field near Seamer Tip bridge. 20+ Tree Sparrows were in the boundary hedge of Plaxton Court, 8+ Stock Doves were in the nearby field, and a Buzzard was heard calling around Rowbrow Wood. A Great Northern Diver was in South Bay and a Water Rail was in Cornelian Ravine. A Chiffchaff was near the entrance gate to Haygate Dalby, and at Long Nab 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls flew north. This afternoon 27 Purple Sandpipers and 43 Turnstones were roosting at the harbour, 7 Lapwings and 21 Yellowhammers were seen at Hutton Buscel, and 12 Pied Wagtails were in a field near Brompton.
