Wednesday 24th March
A Black Redstart was in gardens at Malvern Crescent. A Ringtail Hen Harrier flew south/south-west through South Cliff early this morning. A Red Kite was seen flying south, high over Long Nab, and then just inland of South Cliff. A Chiffchaff was present in Manor Road Park, and 3 more plus a Sparrowhawk were around Plaxton Court. 3 White Wagtails were seen at Long Nab (2 in the ploughed field and one heading south), and 61 Pink-footed Geese, a Crossbill and a Lapland Bunting flew north. A Water Rail was heard behind the Open Air Theatre. At Gristhorpe Bay, just before high tide the following were present: 233 Curlew, 108 Redshank, 61 Oystercatchers, 21 Purple Sandpipers, 8 Turnstones, 2 Dunlin, a Bar-tailed Godwit and a Chiffchaff.
