Tuesday 2nd March
A pair of Tawny Owls were in Peasholm Park early this morning. 4 Great Northern Divers were in South Bay just off the harbour mouth, one of which was wailing. At Long Nab a Scandanavian Rock Pipit (attaining its breeding plumage) was feeding with 15 other Rock Pipits in the freshly-ploughed field behind the observatory, while 3 Twite were with about 15 Linnets in the second field west of Cliff Top House. A Snow Bunting was seen in a coastal field near Roger Trod, Cloughton. The Slavonian Grebe was back in Cayton Bay, though at the northern end and further out today. A male Tawny Owl was calling this evening on Yedmandale Road.
