7 Goldeneye, 2 Mediterranean Gulls (a first and a second summer bird), and 2 Chiffchaffs were at Seamer Road Mere this morning, while 9 Tufted Duck, 2 Chiffchaff and 7 Cormorants were at Burton Riggs and another Chiffchaff was at Harland Mount. 11 species of wildfowl passed Long Nab, the highlights being a drake Long-tailed Duck, a Shoveler, a Goldeneye, 2 Goosanders and 10 Pink-footed Geese, plus a Grey Plover heading north. A Slavonian Grebe was seen this afternoon round the harbour area, where there were also 2 Great Northern Divers. 45 Kittiwakes were in South Bay and another 320 were off Marine Drive, while a Redwing and a Blackbird were grounded inside the Marine Drive wall. A male Snow Bunting and a Woodcock were seen on Howdale Moor.
