Thursday 14th May

2 Spotted Flycatchers were in the south-east corner of Wykeham Forest this morning. At Burton Riggs there was an Egyptian Goose plus 2 Common Sandpipers. A female Marsh Harrier flew south over Long Nab, and a Whimbrel was seen in Burniston Bay. 18 Sedge Warblers were singing along the Hertford between Folkton and Flixton, while 10 more were singing in the New Dike area, and another 6 in the Seamer Tip/Taylor Way area. 6 Reed Warblers were singing by Seamer Tip pool, and another by the small pool by Taylor Way. 2 Little Ringed Plovers were spotted at Wykeham Lakes, and at the Scalby water treatment works there were lots of House Martins, a Kestrel, a Heron and 4 Oystercatchers. A Wood Sandpiper was sound recorded last night over Crossgates.
