Wednesday 27th May

A Blue Fulmar was seen from North Marine Drive this morning, and at Seamer Tip pool there was a Lesser Whitethroat on the 'mounds' and lots of young Starlings around. A Great Spotted Woodpecker was in Woodlands Ravine, and a Cuckoo and a Grasshopper Warbler were at Long Nab, where a Marsh Harrier flew past north. A Hobby was spotted in Ellerburn between the village and the fish farm, and 2 more were feeding over Jugger Howe Moor. 2 Spotted Flycatchers were singing on different territories near Hilla Green bridge, where a Turtle Dove was also present. At Wykeham Lakes a Little Ringed Plover, an intermedius Lesser Black-backed Gull and 400 Herring Gulls were at East Lake, while a Shelduck and a Cuckoo were at South Lake.
