Friday 15th May

A Wheatear and a Grasshopper Warbler were at Long Nab this morning, while a Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin and a Whimbrel flew past northwards. A Goshawk was 'wailing' in Broxa Forest, where there were also 3+ Tree Pipits, 4+ Garden Warblers and 4+ Stonechats. At Burton Riggs the Oystercatchers had moved onto the motor cycle track. A Peregrine flew over Seamer Tip pool, and a hybrid duck flew in, thought to be a Mallard x Gadwall cross. A Red-breasted Merganser flew north over Crossgates, and at Seamer Road Mere there was a Common Sandpiper, a Reed Warbler, and the Pink-footed Goose still.
