Sunday 24th May

2 singing Grasshopper Warblers were present at Long Nab this morning, and a female Red-breasted Merganser and 4 Shelduck were in Burniston Bay. At Wykeham South Lake there were 2 Egyptian Geese on the main island, and 2 Barnacle Geese with Greylags between the south lake and the new workings. A Reed Warbler was singing at the top end of Peasholm Glen, and in Jackson's Bay there were 73 Oystercatchers, 3 Ringed Plover, 3 Sanderling, 8 Turnstone and 3 Dunlin, while 2 Sandwich Terns were on the rocks at Scalby Mills. A White Wagtail was at Burton Riggs this evening, and a Green Woodpecker and 2 Spotted Flycatchers were seen at Low North Camp. 3 flocks of Common Scoter were recorded over Crossgates last night.
