Northerly gales, end of October, can't fail!!....and Long Nab duly produced, in a ten hour seawatch: 3
Little Auks,
37 Pomarine Skuas, 4 Sooty Shearwaters, a
Storm Petrel, 2 Great Northern Divers, 1645 ducks past including 13 Velvet Scoters and 2 Long-tailed Ducks. Crook Ness held a Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Goldcrest. A fourth
Little Auk of the day flew north at Marine Drive late afternoon. Also past Marine drive were 28
Pomarine Skuas, a Short-eared Owl in off plus another asio owl sp flew south, 5 Velvet Scoters, Great Northern Diver, 8 Scaup north. 21 Purple Sandpipers roosting at the harbour.
