Friday 16th December

 Three Woodcock were at Cockrah Foot/Cockrah Wood this morning and a Common Crossbill flew west over Cockrah Road, West Ayton. A Great White Egret flew towards Hutton Buscel from Black Dike Drain this morning and 30 Siskin, 20 Chaffinch, a Woodcock and a Common Buzzard were at Sandybed Lane. A Woodcock, two Curlew, five Bullfinch, 20 Blackbirds, one Common Buzzard and single Song and Mistle Thrushes were at Long Causeway Road.12 Curlew and three Common Snipe were at Saltpans Lane, Cloughton. 45 Fieldfare were at the old orchard near Westfield Farm, Cloughton and 34 Fieldfare were present at Fields Farm, Long Nab. 33 Golden Plover, 18 Lapwing and six Common Snipe were present at Long Nab fields. 68 Lapwing flew north there. 30 Blackbirds and Fieldfare were noted at Scalby Nabs along with a Song Thrush and two Kestrels. Single  Redwings and were reported from gardens at West Ayton, Ravenscar and Burniston. 22 Blackbirds were noted in a Burniston garden along with two Fieldfare. At Gristhorpe Bay early this morning there were 104 Lapwing, 43 Oystercatcher, six Ringed Plover, one Grey Plover, four Turnstone, two Woodcock, one Common Snipe, six Wigeon and two Stonechat.
