A Little Auk flew north past Marine Drive at 0940hrs and 11 Common Eider flew north past there at 1347hrs. A male Blackcap was in a garden on Heron Lane, Crossgates early this morning. A drake Red-breasted Merganser and a Puffin flew north past Long Nab during an otherwise quiet sea watch. 38 Curlew flew west over Burniston and 28 Curlew were feeding in the crop field above Cayton Bay. Five Redpoll sp were in a Wrench Green garden. At Potter Brompton Carr today, viewed from Hey Bridge, there were four Whooper Swans, one Pink-footed Goose, two Pintail, 130 Wigeon, approximately 1,400 Lapwing, 198 Greylag Geese and 23 Great Black-backed Gulls. A Kingfisher was at Ruston Carr bridge.
